Ski area
The Hochfügen-Hochzillertal ski area comprises 93 kilometers of pistes on around 267 hectares.
The offer ranges from easy runs for beginners to challenging runs and numerous variants in open terrain.
If the snow conditions are suitable, an earlier start is possible before the official start of the season on December 5, 2025. The season lasts up to and including April 12, 2026.
The altitude of up to 2,500 meters ensures a consistently high level of snow reliability.
Thanks to the altitude of between 1,500 and 2,500 meters and powerful snowmaking, good conditions are guaranteed at all times - even in changeable weather conditions.
Many accommodations are located directly on the slopes and lifts, so you can access the ski area directly and return without a ski bus or detours.
Lost property is kept at the main ticket office and can be collected there. Please send us an email to info@hochfuegenski.com with a brief description of the lost item and your phone number. We will let you know as soon as a find is reported.
Recordings from Skimovie, SpeedLine or Photopoint are available free of charge after registration with the ski pass number via Skiline (website or app).
Daily updated information is available online under Open lifts & slopes.
You can register directly via the website. You can choose your own focus topics - so you only receive information that is of interest to you.

At the "Zwergerl Club", children are looked after on an hourly, half-day or full-day basis. The care includes playing together, group activities and a warm lunch on request.
Away from the pistes, Hochfügen offers numerous possibilities: Tobogganing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, winter hiking or guided night ski tours.
The following lifts in Hochfügen are particularly suitable for beginners and returners:
- Conveyor I
- Conveyor II
- T-bar lift Lamark I
- T-bar lift Lamark II
- Lamark IV T-bar lift
These lifts open up predominantly easy, clear practice areas and offer ideal conditions for first turns and safe practicing. Access to these lifts directly from the valley floor.
Freeride / off-piste
Untouched deep snow slopes, varied terrain and a well-developed infrastructure characterize Hochfügen as a freeride destination. The altitude of between 1,500 and 2,500 meters often ensures fresh powder days after the snowfall.
The Freeride Info Point in the 8er Shop at the 8er-Jet valley station offers up-to-date information on the weather, avalanche situation, equipment and tour options. A team is available on site for personal advice.
The area has avalanche transceiver checkpoints, a training search field for avalanche searches and regular avalanche updates. In addition, courses and camps are offered for training in alpine safety.
After a tour with the Skifriends Hochfügen, the three-hour "Freeride Beginner Guiding" offers the ideal introduction - with technique training, an introduction to safety equipment and an assessment of alpine dangers.
Experienced guides accompany those interested into the terrain free of charge - every weekend from January to March, starting at the Freeride Info Point at the 8er-Jet valley station. No registration necessary. Safety equipment is provided free of charge while supplies last.
The "Starter Area" near the 6-seater Holzalm lift offers gentle slopes with an incline of less than 30° - ideal for your first attempts at deep snow.
The "Friday News" from FreeridePoint provides weekly updates on the weather and snow conditions - available via social media or newsletter.
The daily avalanche report is also an absolute must-have for anyone who is out and about off-piste. Here you will find the most important information on the current avalanche danger, the structure of the snow cover and the trend for the coming days. The report is updated daily at 17:00 and is valid for the next 24 hours. www.lawinen.report
"Little Canada" is the colloquial term for an area in the open ski area in Hochfügen. The name is used by locals as the terrain is reminiscent of Canadian landscapes.
It is not a marked or secured slope. Skiing is at your own risk and only in consideration of the current snow and avalanche conditions.
