In summer, Hochfügen is a starting point for hikes in the Zillertal Alps. Numerous trails of varying lengths and difficulty begin directly in the village—from easy alpine pasture walks to longer tours with summit destinations. A new themed trail, “Life on the Alpine Pasture,” complements the offer and provides insights into the alpine cultural landscape around Hochfügen.
The altitude ensures pleasant temperatures and wide-open views. Away from heavily frequented areas, the mountain landscape can be experienced in a शांत and relaxed setting.

Thanks to its location, Hochfügen is an established stage destination on routes through the Alps. The Alpine crossing through four countries passes via Hochfügen.

Experiences on two wheels
Mountain biking
Several mountain bike routes lead through the alpine surroundings around Hochfügen. The trails mostly follow forest roads and in some cases include longer climbs with corresponding elevation gain.
Mountain biking is permitted exclusively on designated routes.

Family
& experiences
In addition to the hiking offer, Hochfügen provides selected options for families. From mid-May, the play area will be expanded to include a play pond, a new climbing and bouldering wall, and a summer tubing track.
The archery park and well-maintained, easily walkable paths through the alpine pastures also contribute to a relaxed stay.

Some of the accommodations and dining establishments in Hochfügen are also open during the summer season. They offer overnight stays as well as places to stop for food and refreshments during hikes or while spending time in the area.
Service
The free hiking bus (line 833) of the Fügen–Kaltenbach holiday region connects Hochfügen with the surrounding area and makes tour planning easier.
The bus operates during the summer season from the end of May.
