Via Ferrata
Pfaffenbichl

The Pfaffenbichl Via Ferrata can also be climbed during the summer months. Access is only possible on foot from Hochfügen via the marked hiking trail to the Waidoffen mountain station. With an ascent of approximately 2.5 hours, the approach itself is a demanding alpine hike requiring good fitness, sure-footedness and mountain experience.

The approximately 260-metre-long via ferrata begins along the mountain ridge. Steel cables, iron rungs and a spectacular 28-metre suspension bridge lead the route to the 2,431-metre summit of Pfaffenbichl. Tibetan prayer flags add a distinctive touch to the alpine setting.

With 115 metres of vertical climbing and a maximum difficulty of grade B, the via ferrata offers a varied alpine experience. The combination of well-secured rock, an exposed ridge traverse and impressive panoramic views makes this tour a rewarding challenge for experienced and fit mountain enthusiasts equipped with appropriate via ferrata gear.
