Rigorous tests in Hochfügen mark the first day of the ski season
Blue skies, sunshine and glistening snowflakes welcomed guests and exhibitors from the European Ski Comparison Test to Hochfügen on the first day of the season last Saturday.
In addition to handing out free test skis, representatives from the brands Nordica, Head, Rossignol, Dynastar, Salomon and Atomic were on hand to offer their expert knowledge on the latest models. The participants enjoyed good conditions for the start of the season. Even though the weather turned more overcast as the day went on, this did nothing to dampen spirits, and the skis continued to be stringently tested during the fading light conditions and light snow fall. The models trialled in Hochfügen at the start of the season on Saturday were those that had come out on top of their respective branded ski tests. They were put through their paces free of charge by discerning consumers, who repaid the brand representatives for allowing them to hire their skis by providing them with critical opinions on their products. The testers’ views will now be evaluated and will soon be published on www.skitest.at alongside the evaluations made by testers employed by the ski companies.
According to one of the organisers of the European Ski Comparison Test, Norbert Moser from H&N Sport in Reith in the Alpbach valley, the event “was successful for all involved with constructive and interesting feedback coming from the consumers”. The organisers were also satisfied with the conditions on site with Norbert commenting that the venue is “a really good location for skiers”.
