In 1999, Alexander Fankhauser realised his dream of opening a gourmet restaurant at 1,500 metres above sea level. Since then, the Restaurant Alexander has been one of Austria’s best dining addresses, currently sporting 3 toques and 18 points from Gault Millau 2016, as well as 5 stars & 96 points from the Guide A la Carte 2016.


Alexander Fankhauser’s culinary art is based on two solid foundations: a creative, modern style of cooking paired with traditional Tyrolean family recipes. He interprets these influences in a contemporary manner, shaping his innovative menu creations.
