At a greater elevation. More attractive setting. Guaranteed snow - that's how Hochfügen, among Austria’s ski resorts at the highest elevations – 1500 to 2500 m.a.s.l. - promotes what it has to offer. . At the head of Zillertal valley, readily accessible by means of a mountain road, there are over 36 lifts ready and waiting in the ski resort. This, the fourth largest ski resort in Zillertal offers a snow paradise with varied ski slopes, deep snow runs, ski tour routes, toboggan runs and cross-country ski trails. Artificial snow makers can provide full snow coverage on the 90 km of pistes here and we guarantee the presence of snow throughout the winter season, even for valley descents in the sunshine.
In addition to state-of-the-art lifts with heated seats, the Hochfügen ski resort has further exciting features such as the Snowpark Lamark consisting of three lines and a total of 13 elements, the FunLine Hochfügen - a mixture of piste, cross-country and snow park as well as numerous photo and video hot spots. The availability of ski-out and ski-in is also particularly popular with freeriders; also here are easy-to-reach powder slopes, information and training courses and even guides who take skiers on tours free of charge at the weekends, so that deep snow fans have the best prerequisites for their exploration of free terrain.
Unique in Zillertal and new this winter: Snowlicious. Top chef Alexander Fankhauser and his chef compadres will be serving gourmet finger food directly from the Prinoth snow truck on the slopes on ten occasions this season. Also new this winter is also the option of taking part in“klumping”during the weekly night skiing session. All you do is sit on the milking chair-like seat with skids underneath, lift your feet, and off you go.
Another fun event - the legendary Rope Race. Teams of three skiers are bound together with a rope; they need to closely work together as a unit if they want to be first past the post. This year, the race is to be upgraded: there will be more participants, it will be easier for spectators to follow it and the best rope teams will compete against celebrity teams. There will be Meet and Greets, VIP packages, Weißwurst sausage parties, dirndl and champagne lounges and BBQs to add to the entertainment value of the event.
Hospitality and gastronomy go hand-in-hand in this alpine winter ski resort: the Kristallbar, the 8er Alm and the Holzalm - along with seven other chalets, hotels and restaurants – provide visitors with excellent lunch options, refreshments and après ski fun. Among these, the Alexander Lamark restaurant of the hotel of the same name deserves special mention: The restaurant is run by a prominent Austrian TV chef, Alexander Fankhauser, who has been awarded three toques in the Gault Millau guide, making his restaurant one of the top ten addresses for gourmets in Austria.
