Hochfügen, January 28th 2017: 4* FWQ Big Mountain Hochfügen presented by Dynastar / Lange was quite challenging today. The snow conditions were pretty various on the face. But the 68 riders managed the “Ostwand” great and found their lines.

The New Zealand rookie Craig Murray won the ski men category. He showed nice air with a solid safety grab. He went straight into a huge flatspin 360 with a locked Japan grab following with a fluid run and a giant transfer air at the bottom. The French Mickael Bimboes became second and did a fast and fluid line with a giant air and clean landings skiing in a very technical area. Third on the podium finished also a Frenchmen, Solan Dejou. He did a very aggressive run and possibly the largest move of the day. Having a small issue on landing put him on third place.

The Austrian Alexander Hoffmann won the Hochfügen trophy in the snowboard men category. Alex showed the best style of the day with fluid line and managed the whole line with no mistakes with clear landings and impressive style. Second became Johannes Schnitzer from Germany. He went riders right and showed some nice jumps. His line was fluid and impressive. The Italian Tommaso Gazzini came third. It was his first Big Mountain Hochfügen and he chose the similar line than the winner did with nice style.

Lotten Rapp from Sweden is the win of the women ski category and takes home the second Big Mountain Hochfügen trophy after her won in 2014. She rode a technical line linking nice airs with clean landings without hesitation. Second became Claudia Aliaga from Chile. She impressed the judges with a solid and fluid run. Third place went to the Swiss Maude Besse. She showed strong skiing and went to the riders right.
