Skifriends Hochfügen: A cooperation between ski resort Hochfügen, ski-school skicheck and Dynastar
Hochfügen is committed to promoting prevention and providing information for freeriders and offers an interesting free service for powder snow and off-piste enthusiasts. The initiative was launched last season and is set to continue after generating considerable interest. In collaboration with the resort’s freeriding experts – the trained skiing instructors from skicheck – and Hochfügen’s partner Dynastar, “Ski-Friends” will be riding on fifteen Saturdays in total from 9 January 2016, departing twice a day from a fixed assembly point to take skiers out into off-piste terrain for free. Participants must have a valid ski pass and be able to ski confidently on black pistes.
This free service is aimed in particular at skiers and snowboarders who are interested in freeriding but are yet to take the plunge. In Hochfügen, anyone aged 12 and over can trust in the expertise of our Ski-Friends. Under expert instruction, budding freeriders can enjoy a unique off-piste skiing experience and decide whether they want to explore the topic further in a wide range of courses offered in Hochfügen or whether they’d rather stay on the marked courses.
A tour with the Ski-Friends lasts approximately 2.5 hours. Depending on the group dynamics and wishes, the tour will include practical exercises relating to safety, off-piste skiing and technique. The Ski-Friends powered by Dynastar have a clearly recognisable outfit and will be waiting for interested skiers and snowboarders at the Ski-Friends assembly point. The tours begin at 9.30 am and 1 pm. It is recommended that you get there in good time, as a “first come, first served” policy is in operation. Specifically, a maximum of six skiers will be permitted per group in order to guarantee the highest levels of safety. The Ski-Friends in Hochfügen are the perfect companions for anyone who wants to discover the magic of off-piste skiing.
